Pleasantly surprised by: Road trains. The majority were quite happy to slow down, give us a wide berth and pass considerably and responsibly
Highlights: Awesome outback pubs ….
Seeing the Burdekin at its tiny headwaters, watching it get bigger and bigger till we got to the massive dam… Seeing mind-bogglingly big stations….Pineapples and sunshine…never feeling cold…
Support mob: Cathy and Mollie in the trusty white campervan
Number of punctures: 15? 16? 18? A fair few…
Bike problems: broken bottom bracket (repaired in Townsville- thanks to the Bicycle Pedlar)
Snake sightings: 4 ( in the space of three days)
Croc sightings: 0
Dog chasings: 2
Magpie swoopings: too numerous to count!
