We saw a few brumbies in the distance over the next few days, but luckily didn’t have any trouble or distractions at camp with them. Kosiusko National Park truly is beautiful and Spring really is a wonderful time of year to trek the BNT, with grass and water everywhere.
Z and I have been reading The Hobbit In the tent at night- enjoying tales of Bilbo Baggins and the dwarves trekking through the Mountains with their little pack ponies. It’s been a great story to read for this part of the trail, as it is easy to imagine similar creatures and events unfolding in this wild and spectacular countryside…
We arrived at Providence Portal Caravan Park to gusty winds and driving rain and spent the following two days holed up in the tent. Luckily it wasn’t too miserable for the bubs, as a lovely friend we met in Canberra had driven out and dropped a heap of feed off for them. Thanks, Rachel!
Two days were spent on crosswords, crafty stuff, school work, snacking and reading! Z also finally had a bit of time to finish her report on Namadgi National Park.
Now we’ve just gotta figure out how to get over the river and out of here after all that rain!
Hoping to be in Khankoban by this time next week, with phone reception, hot chips and beer in hand!
